Jonathon L's Profile

My Role: Veteran
Branch: Army
Conflict(s): Enduring Freedom

I am originally from Oklahoma where I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Management Information Systems (MIS) degree. At OU, I founded the Sooner Information Network, which grew to become the most active online community of college students in the country by 2000.

After graduating OU, I moved to Washington DC to get involved with solving national challenges using modern Internet technologies and passionate teams. I worked in the online education industry for five years as the senior product marketing manager of the Community Engagement product for Blackboard Inc. Blackboard was a public company when I worked there and had over 4,000 education institutions as clients serving more than 30 Million students and instructors on a daily basis.

After Blackboard, I had the opportunity to work in the Pentagon with my brother-in-law and be a part of the research for the U.S. Army's annual Health Promotion, Risk Reduction report issued to Congress each year. During this time, I witnessed the daily struggles of Veteran and Military families as I investigated available Veteran resources. This is where my passion grew from to protect and serve those who have served.

Currently, my office is at that 1776 DC incubator - - and this is where I discuss and collaborate with over 140 other CEOs and advisors on how to revolutionize Veteran transition challenges using modern technology and smart teams. is a 1776 company. I am extremely proud to make the platform available to all Veterans and Military families as I truly hope it becomes a beacon of trust within a sea of confusion and mistrust. Hooah! |
