Our mission is to partner with our returning veterans and their families/caregivers to help them attain the happiness and quality of life here at home that they so deserve after serving our country. Whether it is in finding employment, starting new businesses, completing their educations, improving personal relationships, assessing for new vocations, or locating health care to fully meet their needs, our Stand Beside Them (SBT) volunteer coaches are here to help veterans transition to civilian life. We work with them for a successful reintegration in all environments: work, family, and the community.
Our coaches are experienced, certified, life, business, career, wellness, educational, executive, and leadership coaches holding credentials from either the International Coaching Federation (ICF) or certification from a distinguished coach training school.
We define a coach as a "facilitator of positive change"...someone who guides another to take positive action to achieve a specific foal or goals. Solution-driven and nonjudgmental, experienced coaches use active listening and precise questioning techniques to help their client come to realizations that result in beneficial change.
You can get an idea about the quality and experience of our coaches by checking out their bios on our website on the About Us page. www.standbesidethem.org is our website URL.
Veterans are our country's best national resource..individuals who value commitment, loyalty, integrity, and teamwork, and have had the best training in the world. Our coaches at Stand Beside Them are dedicated to helping veterans fulfill their tremendous potential.. We also provide coaching to spouses and caregivers for veterans. Our coaching is free and totally confidential. One-on-one sessions can take place in person, by phone, or via SKYPE when distance or transportation is an issue.
The relationship between the coach and the client is a collaboration, where the client should be willing to do some fieldwork in between sessions, and to be checked on for accountability. This dual responsibility ensures that the process stays on track, and the client will achieve his or her specific objectives.
Some benefits from coaching include: Communication is restored or improved between family members; caregivers feel supported and learn to take care of themselves too; a small business gets up and running; a job or training for a new career or vocation becomes a reality; a diploma is attained; self-esteem is restored, with positive outlook for the future.
At Stand Beside Them we are here for veterans and their families every step of the way through their transition to civilian life. We believe you deserve a bright future, and we're here to help you create it.
